SUMMARY:Webinar: Utilizing Cutting-Edge eDiscovery Collection Processes to Achieve Proportionality
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a live webinar featuring William Belt from Complete Discovery Source (CDS)\, John Patzakis from X1\, and Kelly Twigger from ESI Attorneys as they discuss Utilizing Cutting-Edge eDiscovery Collection Processes to Achieve Proportionality. \nThe principals of proportionality embedded in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure are designed to promote efficiencies and cost savings in the discovery process. But such aspirations are only that without an operational means to effectuate proportionality in eDiscovery. Remote\, targeted and automated collections of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) are essential to attain process efficiencies. During this informative session\, experienced eDiscovery attorneys William Belt and Kelly Twigger will dive into the hot topic of proportionality and the collection of ESI. They will discuss the legal framework of proportionality\, including relevant statutes and case law\, and legal ethics considerations related to ESI collection\, including the challenge of data collection. \nDuring this webinar\, attendees will learn: \n\nLegal overview of proportionality and data collection\nProportionality challenges and recent case law\nSteps and guidelines to operationalizing proportionality\nBenefits of cloud-based remote collection with an integrated solution\n\nThis session includes a product demonstration and interactive Q&A. \nCan’t make the webinar but would still like to learn more about utilizing eDiscovery collection processes to achieve proportionality? Register anyway and you’ll receive a link to the recorded session! \nRegister now!

SUMMARY:GW Discovery Proportionality Benefit-Burden Model Bench-Bar Conference
DESCRIPTION:CDS is a proud sponsor of the GW Discovery Proportionality Benefit-Burden Model Bench-Bar Conference\, hosted by James F. Humphreys Complex Litigation Center at George Washington University School of Law. Twelve federal judges and 23 prominent practitioners and other experts will lead discussions for an audience of practitioners and discovery experts. \nThe conference will examine a work-in-progress discovery proportionality benefit-burden model\, developed under the center’s auspices by teams of lawyers and judges. (William Wallace Belt\, Jr\, Managing Director\, Consulting at CDS\, is a member of the steering committee and editorial board.)  \nThe model’s structured methodology creates a new analytical framework\, which is designed to enhance a party’s proportionality assessments\, facilitate discovery negotiations with the opposing party\, and better inform judicial resolution of discovery disputes.  \nFollowing the conference\, the center will continue to refine the model and publish it for public comment. The center will also consider developing best practices promoting the use of the model as a standard proportionality-analysis framework for the bench and bar. Judges and practitioners attending the conference will be given the first opportunity to join teams drafting these influential class-action best practices and guidelines under the center’s auspices with assistance of its Scholars Council. \nFor more information at to register\, visit: https://www.law.gwu.edu/gw-discovery-proportionality-benefit-burden-model-bench-bar-conference \nSchedule:\nThursday 3/25: 10am – 4:30pm\nFriday 3/26: 10am – 5pm

DESCRIPTION:We’ve been on a journey\, all of us. We’ve shared an exceptional experience in human history. 2020 often felt surreal\, like dystopian science fiction. \nWe spent much of 2020 adapting to this brave new world. As we turn the corner on a new year\, CDS is venturing even further into the unknown. We hope you’ll join us on our next mission: PIIP 2021: A Data Odyssey\, taking place January 26th and 27th. This year’s event is 100% virtual\, and we’re expanding the conversation. \nWe’ll look at how people\, organizations and technology have helped us survive the upheaval. How we shifted the way we do business\, the way we solve problems\, the way we hire and train\, the way we work. How ediscovery professionals and data managers confronted new challenges with real-world solutions. What new strengths did we discover\, and what new areas of exposure were revealed? \nWe’ll also examine eDiscovery in context\, with data as the common denominator. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution\, but true best practices keep all issues in mind – privacy\, security\, compliance\, risk\, and information governance. \nDon’t miss this one-of-a-kind program featuring a stellar array of industry leaders and inspiring keynotes! \nFeaturing speakers from: \nBrainspace\nCapitalOne\nChevron\nCravath\nExelon\nFedEx\nFinnegan\nNovartis\nPacific Gas and Electric\nPerkins Coie\nRelativity\nSeyfarth Shaw\nText IQ\nToyota \nSet your course now for PIIP 2021! SUMMARY:Making the Most of Relativity Short Message Format with CDS Convert and RelativityOne
DESCRIPTION:As remote work and social distancing have become a necessity in response to COVID-19\, the business use case for chat and collaboration platforms has grown exponentially. As a result\, the future of ediscovery will likely contain even more data generated by messaging apps\, collaboration tools like Teams and Slack\, and mobile platforms. These non-standard data formats present challenges for ediscovery data processing and review. \nMark Anderson\, Director of UK Operations at CDS\, will provide an overview of the data types we encounter\, and how CDS Convert and the Relativity Short Message Format helps you effectively review this data. We will outline how to utilize analytics to understand your data\, as well as some important considerations in relation to understanding context and how something as innocuous as an emoji\, a reply reviewed out of place\, or can change a legal team’s understanding of a conversation. \nPresenters:\nMark Anderson\, Director of UK Operations\, CDS\nChris O’Connor\, Director of eDiscovery\, CDS \nPlease register in advance here: https://bit.ly/3cMGgtL \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

SUMMARY:RelativityFest London
DESCRIPTION:“The Lifecycle of Data Subject Access Requests in RelativityOne” \nWith Data Subject Access Requests\, timing is everything. They can come at any point\, and often\, organisations are not prepared. The data sets can be quite large\, and as a result\, the information collected must be targeted to avoid oversaturation of irrelevant information.  \nOn day 3 of RelativityFest London\, which is taking place online this year\, Mark Anderson\, Director of UK Operations at CDS and Alyssa Kondonis of Relativity will address\, “The Lifecycle of Data Subject Access Requests in RelativityOne.” In the session\, which is available on demand beginning May 14\, they will walk through a scenario: 30 days to respond to a Data Subject Access Request. Starting from the scope of the request and data collection\, they will share how they’d apply Analytics to cull down and refine the document set\, and finally review and produce the DSAR request\, all while identifying opportunities to save time and expense.   \nVisit www.relativityfest.com/london for more information and to register.
