CDS Only eDiscovery Company Approved to Provide U.S. Government with Records Management Services

NEW YORK – Complete Discovery Source (CDS), the nationally recognized leader in eDiscovery, announced today that its Federal Cloud Services offering has successfully passed a rigorous security assessment and has been granted An Agency Authorization through Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). CDS is the first eDiscovery provider approved to handle sensitive data for government agencies in its cloud-based platform.

FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud-based products and services. The program was designed to help drive adoption of cloud solutions in the U.S. Federal Government while ensuring the security and resiliency of approved providers. FedRAMP is a mandatory program for any cloud service provider that hosts data for government agencies.

Complete Discovery Source is the only end to end FedRAMP authorized company that focuses on eDiscovery. Across all industry segments, fewer than 100 Cloud-Service Providers (CSPs) have earned FedRAMP approval. These companies represent some of the largest, cloud-based enterprise solutions, including Microsoft, Google, IBM, Amazon Web Services, and Salesforce.

“FedRAMP authorization is significant to more than just government agencies,” said Nyi Htwe, Chief Technology Officer at CDS. “This certification process put CDS through a gauntlet of security standards and qualifications that underscore the fact that we are able to provide the most stringent cloud-based data security possible. CDS’s Federal Cloud hosts the government’s most sensitive information, in the most secure Cloud environment. “

FedRAMP is the result of close collaboration between cybersecurity and cloud experts from General Services Administration, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, National Security Agency, Office of Management and Budget, the Federal CIO Council and its working groups alongside experts from private industry. The goals of the FedRAMP program are to accelerate the adoption of and increase confidence in secure cloud solutions for Federal agencies. Authorization by FedRAMP requires the assessed cloud service provider to go through a demanding three step process including security assessment, leveraging, and authorization with ongoing continuous monitoring and authorization required to maintain FedRAMP status.

The achievement of FedRAMP authorization is a major component of CDS’s ongoing campaign to bring commercial eDiscovery and records management best practices to the federal marketplace, all while ensuring the highest levels of data security and integrity for its systems. CDS has a long-term commitment to data security and maintains highly secure ISO 27001 certified hosting and SOC 2 Type 2 audited data centers in multiple cities.
