Real People, Real Results: Meet Nicole Guyer, Client Solutions Director

Jul 15, 2026

At CDS, we let the work speak for itself. But behind every result is a team member that made it happen. Real People, Real Results is a monthly series that takes a closer look at the individuals who make up our team, exploring their backgrounds, their expertise, and what drives them.

This month, meet Nicole Guyer, a Client Solutions Director at CDS.

Nicole has spent more than 20 years in the legal technology and eDiscovery space, helping clients solve complex challenges and navigate an increasingly sophisticated data landscape. As a Client Solutions Director in the Advisory Services Division at CDS, she works with case teams to develop strategic, defensible approaches to eDiscovery across the EDRM lifecycle. Her expertise spans data forensics, advanced analytics, document review workflows, cyber response, and emerging data types, and she’s particularly passionate about consumer privacy and cross-border data matters. In this edition of Real People, Real Results, Nicole Guyer shares how she unexpectedly found her way into the industry, the types of challenges she enjoys tackling most, and the advice that has guided her throughout her career.

What originally attracted you to a career in client solutions?

I kind of fell into it. I’ve been working in eDiscovery for 21 years now. I started working at a law firm during my first semester of college, and my boss asked me if I wanted to learn about eDiscovery. I stuck with it through college and grad school and ultimately stayed in it because I was good at it and found it interesting.

I was thinking about becoming an attorney but ultimately decided not to. In eDiscovery, there’s always a puzzle to solve and always something new to learn.

What type of client challenge do you enjoy tackling most?

I’m definitely interested in cross-border matters that involve different privacy jurisdictions, or really any project where there isn’t already an out-of-the-box solution in place.

I enjoy opportunities to leverage new technology or use existing technology in a different way. When we’re able to create efficiencies by designing new workflows, clients are happy, and that’s incredibly rewarding.

How has your role at CDS evolved since you started?

I’ve been with CDS for seven years. I was hired as a Senior Consultant on the Managed Services team, supporting a large utility company. After about a year, I was promoted to Client Director of Managed Services, where I oversaw various corporate and law firm accounts.

I loved that role because it allowed me to focus on building relationships, managing a team, and finding solutions. Today, I serve as a Client Solutions Director on the Advisory Services Division’s Analytics & AI team, where my role is focused on testing products and deploying customized solutions for clients. It’s certainly interesting.

If you won the lottery tomorrow, what’s the first thing you’d do?

I’d go back to grad school for my Ph.D. in International Relations and spend half the year in the UK.

What’s the best advice you’ve received about managing a busy career?

You need to constantly learn. If you’re no longer learning, then you’re no longer growing.

I’ve also learned that setting expectations and planning properly can help avoid uncomfortable conversations. More often than not, strong communication and preparation make all the difference.

What legacy do you hope to leave at CDS?

I’d like to think that I do a good job of explaining the “what” and the “why” to project managers so they develop a deep understanding of what they’re learning.

I also hope people see that it’s possible to continue growing at CDS. You can move to different divisions within the company based on your interests and skill set. My advice is to stay curious and keep pursuing opportunities. More often than not, at CDS you’re encouraged to explore new ideas and interests.

We’re glad you took the time to meet Nicole Guyer! Look out next month as we highlight more of the real people driving real results at CDS. To learn more about CDS, reach out to us at .
