The Challenge: Problematic Data Types
CDS Vision Search Toolkit emerged with the creation of Search Analyzer, a tool initially built for internal use by CDS project managers who were often burdened with the task of manually formatting and analyzing hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of search terms for large-scale, complex matters. Search Analyzer quickly grew to include tools that address problematic data types that are currently incompatible with Relativity search and analytics capabilities, like images and handwritten or scanned documents with poor quality text, and the CDS Vision Search Toolkit was born.
The Solution: Vision Search Toolkit
CDS Vision Search Toolkit is a proprietary solution developed for RelativityOne and designed to extend Relativity’s native search and analysis capabilities to handle the full spectrum of modern discovery challenges, from formatting complex terms to enabling search of currently incompatible document types. Vision Search Toolkit’s key features include:
- Search Analyzer: Automatically identifies syntax errors, flags noise words and non-indexed terms, and provides suggestions to improve search term formatting.
- Vision Images: Integrates image review and analysis within RelativityOne, including object detection, AI-generated image summaries, and image coding capabilities.
- Vision Cursive OCR: Leverages advanced AI-enhanced OCR to accurately transcribe handwritten and poor-quality scanned documents, making them fully searchable within Relativity.
CDS released the CDS Vision Search Toolkit in the fall of 2024 with Search Analyzer, and continues to extend Relativity capabilities with the release of Vision Images and Cursive OCR this year.
